It’s nearly every Southerner’s favorite time of the year: Football Season! And we’re here to help make your tailgate party touchdown-worthy. So throw on your team colors, and let’s get cooking!
Let’s start with some basic tips to help make it a tailgate to remember:
Establish Traditions
Your football team has traditions, and so should your tailgate! Whether it’s a rousing rendition of your team’s fight song, a particular spot, or a must-have food, make it something your friends and family will love to pass along!
Make it Your Own
Whether your tailgate includes your favorite beer or tablecloths and a full spread, do whatever makes you happy! Manage the hassle by keeping it simple or bring a complete meal. A tailgate means something different to different people, so as long as you’re in your comfort zone, it’s a success!
Grill, Grill, Grill
There’s something about grilled burgers, brats, or ribs that screams “football”. Grills can be tough to transport, but miniature grills have made game-day cooking much easier.
Keep it Clean
Trash bags are a tailgate must-have. We like the large, extra heavy-duty kind to avoid messes from broken bags. Remember that you won’t have your kitchen sink come cleaning time, so just load all the dirty stuff in a bag for post-game cleanup at the house.
Next comes creating the perfect menu. Below are some of our favorite game-day recipes:
