Southwestern Turkey Burgers with Avocado Spread

Ingredients
Avocado Spread
- 3 small avocados, peeled and seeded
- ½ cup sour cream
- 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
- ½ teaspoon ground cumin
- ½ teaspoon salt
Turkey Burgers
- 3 pounds ground turkey
- 3 tablespoons fresh cilantro
- 1 teaspoon lime zest
- ½ teaspoon ground chipotle chile pepper
- ½ teaspoon ground cumin
- ½ teaspoon seasoned salt
- ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
- 6 slices Monterey Jack cheese with peppers
- 6 hamburger buns, havled
- sliced tomato
- lettuce
- pickled jalapeño slices
Directions
Avocado Spread
In a medium bowl, mash all ingredients with a fork or potato masher until smooth. Cover and refrigerate while preparing burgers.
Turkey Burgers
In a large bowl, stir turkey and next 6 ingredients until well combined. Divide mixture into 8 portions, and shape each into a 4-inch patty.
Spray grill rack with nonstick nonflammable cooking spray. Preheat grill to medium-high heat (350° to 400°F). Cook patties for 6 to 8 minutes per side until thermometer registers 165° or until no longer pink in center. Place 1 cheese slice over each patty, and cover with grill lid until cheese is melted.
Spread avocado mixture onto buns, and top with patties and desired toppings.
