Nana’s Apple Bread

Ingredients
- 12 slices white bread (crust cut off)
- 6 to 8 medium apples
- ¼ teaspoon cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon nutmeg
- ⅔ cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 3 to 4 eggs
- maple syrup, to taste
- milk
Directions
Peel and slice apples. Mix cinnamon, nutmeg, sugar, and cornstarch, and mix with apples.
Beat eggs and add milk. Dip bread in egg mixture and put in bottom of greased 8×8-inch pan. Add a layer of apples; pour a little maple syrup over apples, then a layer of bread, then another layer of apples with syrup over and end with bread.
Bake at 350˚F for 1 hour. Cover with a piece of foil for the first half hour.
