Mystery Pecan Pie

Ingredients

  • 2 teaspoons 1 teaspoon each for pie and topping vanilla
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/3 cup plus 1/4 cup sugar for topping sugar
  • 1 (8 oz) package cream cheese
  • 4 1 for pie, 3 for topping eggs
  • 1 deep dish pie shell
  • 1 1/4 cups chopped pecans
  • 1 cup light corn syrup

Directions

Blend together 1 teaspoon vanilla, 1/4 teaspoon salt, 1/3 cup sugar, 1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, 1 egg and pour in bottom of unbaked pie shell, top with chopped pecans.

Topping:

Mix 3 eggs, 1/4 cup sugar, 1 cup light corn syrup, 1 teaspoon vanilla and pour on top of pecans. Bake in 350 °F oven for 45 minutes.

I have been making this pie for over 6 years! It has been the request for every family holiday dinners! I have been asked randomly to bake it for people. Especially my dad! I love love it and it always turns out perfect

I made this and it was too easy! The pie turned out so good a friend wanted some made. I think this is a different spin on pecan pie that is going to be on my menu through the year.

My pie turned out Ronnie and the bottom of the cross was not done not even lightly browned please have what did I do wrong out went strictly by the instructions

Double check that your oven temperature is accurate. You can do this by placing an oven thermometer in your oven and keeping it there. Also, depending on your altitude, the temperature may need to change. (See: https://www.kingarthurflour.com/learn/high-altitude-baking.html) If it's not the altitude or oven temperature, you can always add in a bit more corn syrup or extra pecans. Lastly, make sure the pie crust isn't frozen when it goes into the oven.

I made Paula’s cream cheese pie!The mystery be pecan-pie I went right by the directions it was real runny and the crust was not done I would love to read make this pie but please how can I correct the pie
I made Paula’s pecan cream cheese pie and did exactly the way the recipe told me to, and i use the deep dish crust, it was Runny and the crust was not done. What can I do to correct this pie I would like to make it again,thank you.It was do good.

Thank you so much! Would you recommend baking the piecrust some before putting the filling in?
