Glazed Fresh Apple Cookies

Ingredients
- ½ cup butter-flavored shortening
- 1⅓ cup brown sugar
- 1 egg
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup chopped raisins
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon ground cloves
- ½ teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 cup chopped nuts
- 1 cup finely chopped unpared apple
- ¼ cup apple juice or milk
Vanilla Glaze
- 1½ cups powdered sugar, sifted
- 2½ Tablespoons light cream
- ⅛ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon vanilla
- 1 tablespoon butter
Directions

Preheat oven to 350˚F.
Cream together the shortening, brown sugar, and egg.
Sift together the dry ingredients, then mix half of the dry ingredients, and all of the chopped nuts, apple, and raisins into the wet ingredients. Blend in the apple juice or milk. Add the remaining flour mixture, and mix well.
Drop by the teaspoon on a greased baking sheet.
Bake for 10-12 minutes. Spread with glaze while hot.
Vanilla Glaze
Mix all ingredients together well.
