Dummy Fudge

Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 (14-oz) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 cup butterscotch chips
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 cup pecans (any type of nut will work)

Directions

Butter a 9 by 9-inch baking dish

Melt chocolate chips, butterscotch chips and condensed milk in double boiler on medium heat. Once smooth remove from heat. Add vanilla and nuts. Scoop into baking dish and chill in refrigerator until set for approximately 10 minutes.

Followed instructions exactly. Fudge never got firm why

this is the closest I have come to a fudge recipe that we use to make when I was a kid. It is very quick and very easy.

I have made this fudge a couple of times and it always comes out as in my sons words "taffy" what am I doing wrong? I even left it on the stove a little longer this last time I made it, they still eat it though!!!
