The Lady's Cheesy Mac

  • 3 eggs, beaten
  • 4 cups elbow macaroni, cooked and drained
  • 2 cups cheddar cheese, grated
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 4 tablespoons butter, cut into pieces
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk

Directions

Deep Fried Mac and Cheese

Dredge each Cheesy Mac portion in flour, then egg, and then bread crumbs to coat. Fry for about 1 minute on each side until golden brown. Drain on paper towels before serving.

The Lady's Cheesy Mac

Preheat oven to 350 °F.

Once you have the macaroni cooked and drained, place in a large bowl and while still hot, add the cheddar. In a separate bowl, combine the remaining ingredients and add to the macaroni mixture. Pour macaroni mixture into a casserole dish and bake for 30 to 45 minutes. Top with additional cheese, if desired.

Wow! My husband is a mac n cheese aholic! I haven't deep fried anything in years, so this was a challenge..but so worth it! The mac n cheese alone is the best stuff I've ever put in my mouth. I worked out at the gym for 1.5 hours and ate like a bird all day to prep for this treat, but it made our night! We had it as part of our Easter meal, I had to sit on my hands to keep from snacking it..hahahahaha. Thanks for your recipes and your shows. Thanks for inspiring me to get in the kitchen and learn to love cooking. You and your family make me smile and laugh. I look forward to each and every show, thanks can never say enough!!
