Difficulty: Easy

Prep time: 15 minutes

Cook time: 15 minutes

Servings: 15

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 2 cups self rising flour

Directions

Preheat oven to 500 °F. In a medium bowl, stir together the flour, sugar and cream until the dough forms a ball. Turn the dough out onto a surface dusted with additional flour. Fold the dough in 1/2 and knead 5 to 7 times, adding just enough flour to keep dough from sticking to your hands. Gently roll out dough to 1/2-inch thickness. Using a 3-inch biscuit cutter coated with flour, cut dough into biscuits. Place on baking sheet coated with cooking spray, leaving at least 1-inch between each biscuit. Bake for 10 minutes, or until golden brown.

These are the best biscuits I've ever had. And the easiest ones I've ever made. They are perfect for sausage biscuits or biscuits and gravy. I will never make another biscuit recipe again. Thank you Paula for this recipe.

I HAVE FINALLY FOUND THE ULTIMATE SOUTHERN BISCUIT! EASY! EASY! EASY! Thank you Paula Dean! They were light, fluffy and melt in your mouth! I added an additional spoon of sugar, I like them sweet. I wonder if I add cinnamon and raisins, what a treat that would be. THIS IS THE BISCUIT YOU'VE ALL BEEN LOOKING FOR!!
