Citrus & Purple Onion Salad

Ingredients
Dressing
- 6 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 2 tablespoons white wine vinegar
- 2 tablespoons orange juice
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- ½-1 teaspoon cloves
- 2 tablespoons orange zest
- salt, to taste
- fresh ground black pepper, to taste
Citrus & Purple Onion Salad
- 4-5 oranges, peeled and sliced, with pithy middle removed.
- 1 red onion, sliced
- fresh ground black pepper, to taste
- arugula, optional
- toasted pecans, optional
- maraschino cherries, optional
Directions
Dressing
Whisk together all ingredients until combined.
Citrus & Purple Onion Salad
Arrange orange slices on tray. Put onions on top of the oranges. Add fresh ground pepper. Pour dressing on top of salad and stir to combine.
Kitchen Tip: Arranging this salad on a bed of arugula is a beautiful option, and pecans and maraschino cherries are a delicious addition, as well!
