Apple Butter Pumpkin Pie

Ingredients

  • 1 cup apple butter
  • 1 cup or canned fresh pumpkin
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 3/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 3 slightly beaten eggs
  • 3/4 cup evaporated milk
  • 1 (9 inch) unbaked pie shell
  • sweetened for garnish whipped cream

Directions

Preheat oven to 425 °F.

Combine apple butter, pumpkin, sugar, salt and spices in a bowl. Stir in eggs. Gradually add milk and mix well. Pour into pie shell. Bake for about 40 minutes or until set.

Cook’s Notes:

-If the crust begins to burn, place tin foil around the crust and lower the temperature of the oven.

-A tasty topping for this pie is praline pecans.

Love your recipes ...I do not use real sugar , I use substitute ones as stevia or coconut palm sugar so as not to spike blood sugars....works great for me and tastes too still. Tell Bobby about this please...

Paula I just love all the things you have. I ordered some skillets from you. I gave them to my Mom for Christmas last year. I have bought some from wal-Mart. wish you was back on HGTV. Love you

I really miss you Paula. I have collected so many of your recipes and love all of the ones that I have tried. You are a "down home" lady and a part of my life that I remember so well. I can hear your voice, see your smiles, hear your laughter & just smell your cooking through the t. v. lol It's good to see you here on fb.
