Ingredients
- 2 bone-in center-cut pork chops (½ pound each), 1 inch thick
- ½ teaspoon salt, plus more for seasoning pork
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper , plus more for seasoning pork
- ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
- oil, for spraying
- 4 tablespoons (½ stick) unsalted butter
- 2 tablespoons finely chopped onion
- ¼ cup all-purpose flour
- 1½ cups whole milk
- 1½ cups chicken broth or water
- one (14½-ounce) can tomatoes, drained
Directions
Lightly sprinkle pork chops on both sides with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Spray each pork chop on both sides with oil and place in air fryer basket. Set temperature to 400 degrees, and air fry for 10 minutes. Turn chops, spray with oil, and air fry for 10 minutes more.
While pork chops are cooking, melt butter in a small skillet. Add onion and sauté, stirring, until softened, about 5 minutes. Reduce heat if onion browns too quickly. Sprinkle flour over onion and cook, stirring, for 1 minute more. Slowly whisk in milk and then broth. Simmer until thickened, about 5 minutes. Whisk in tomatoes, ½ teaspoon of the salt, and ¼ teaspoon of the pepper. Spoon tomato gravy over pork chops and serve.
