A Dozen Recipes for Georgia Pecan Month

You may or may not know this, but with more than 600,000 pecan trees, Paula’s hometown of Albany, Georgia, is the pecan capital of the world! So naturally, she loves pecans in or on just about anything—from cookies & candies to meats and veggies. There’s nothing this little heart-healthy, nutrient dense nut can’t improve when it comes to cooking!

There are at least 16 varieties of pecans grown here in Georgia, and regardless of which variety you choose, you’re sure to have a delicious, buttery addition to your recipes. Plus, you can add as many as you like without feeling guilty because they have been proved to lower cholesterol and aid in weight loss and weight control, and they contain more than 19 vitamins and minerals, including vitamins A & E, magnesium, folic acid, a multitude of B vitamins, and a whole lot more. And, like most nuts, they are protein-packed!

Since November is Georgia Pecan month, we thought we’d pull together a dozen incredible recipes that feature our favorite nut. Whether you’re looking for sweet or salty; breakfast, lunch, or dinner; or an out-of-this-world dessert recipe, you’ll find just what you’re wanting right here.

Thank you Paula For posting all the beautiful things with pecans. I lived in Albany, for almost 30 years. Loved the parade, the contests, and the fair. It was a beautiful city back in its day and I still love it. Sure do miss some really good pecans. We no longer live in the states. Best wishes Sharon Morton
