By Paula Deen

JUMP TO RECIPE

Difficulty: Easy

Prep time: 10 minutes

Cook time: 10 minutes

Servings: 10

Ingredients

  • 3 slices bacon
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped yellow onion
  • 1 (12 oz) bag baby spinach
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream

Directions

In a large skillet, over medium heat, add the bacon and cook until crisp, about 7 minutes. Transfer the bacon to a paper towel-lined plate to drain. Pour off all but 1 tablespoon of the fat from the skillet. Add the onion and cook, stirring, until softened, 3 to 5 minutes. Add the spinach and toss until wilted.

Add the cream and salt and pepper, to taste. Let it bubble over medium heat until the cream is thickened and clinging to the spinach, about 10 minutes. Transfer the spinach to a serving bowl, crumble the bacon over the spinach, stir, and serve.

I have not tried this but my question is: why are there no nutritions on each recipes?

Paula, I just wanted you to know that I have developed an excitement about cooking since discovering shows like yours. I feel like I'm right there in your kitchen when I watch you prepare meals, and I thoroughly enjoy your interaction with Jamie and Bobby when they come over. I know it's TV, but I think you and I would be great friends if we would ever cross paths. If I ever get the opportunity to visit Savannah, I will definitely make my way to the Lady and Sons. God Bless You and Your Family!

This is a very simple recipe. It is delicious. It is now my favorite. It is much lighter than the recipes you see at there with all the cheese. Thanks Paula.
