Salted Caramel Banana Bread
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¾ brown sugar, packed
- ½ cup butter (1 stick), room temperature
- 2 eggs
- ⅓ cup sour cream
- 4 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1½ teaspoons vanilla
Salted Caramel Glaze
- ¼ cup brown sugar, packed
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons heavy cream
- ⅓ cup powdered sugar
- ⅓ teaspoon Kosher salt
Directions
Salted Caramel Banana Bread
Preheat oven to 350˚F and grease a 9″x5″ loaf pan.
In a medium-sized bowl, whisk the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt together.
In a separate bowl, beat together the brown sugar and butter until it’s creamy before beating the eggs in one at a time. Then, add the sour cream, bananas, and vanilla until well combined.
Slowly add the dry ingredients to the we ingredients until just combined, being careful not to over mix.
Pour the batter into the loaf pan and bake for 55 to 60 minutes or until an inserted toothpick comes out clean.
Salted Caramel Glaze
In a small saucepan, bring the brown sugar and butter to a boil over medium heat, cooking until the sugar is fully dissolved (approximately one minute).
Stir in the heavy cream and remove the saucepan from heat. Stir in the powdered sugar and salt until smooth.
Allow glaze to cool for 5 minutes before pouring it over the bread.
