Pot Pie Perfection

By

When the weather is cold, we could all use a little comfort, and one of the most comforting of comfort dishes has to be a pot pie. With a flaky crust, gravy, protein, and veggies, a pot pie is a complete all-in-one supper! It’s hearty enough to give your belly that cozy, full feeling, plus it’s sure to warm you from the inside out.

It’s an awesome, easy solution when you’ve got to cook for a crowd because you don’t have to worry about making side dishes to go with it! Oh, and did we mention it’s a yummy way to get picky kids to eat their veggies? Yum! No one can resist a pot pie.

One of the other things we love about a pot pie is that it can really cut down on food waste. You can throw anything in a pot pie to suit your own tastes or to use up leftover chicken, seafood, or veggies that are in your refrigerator—you don’t have to stick to a recipe! Of course if you could use a little inspiration, try one of Paula’s delicious pot pie recipes here. They’re so good!

How many of you love pot pies? What’s your go-to recipe? Are there any ingredients your pot pie has to have? Let us know in the comments below!

Paula Deen - As a young girl growing up in Albany, Georgia, Paula Deen never dreamed she would become an American icon. As a young mother, Paula was living the American dream — married to her high school sweetheart and raising two adorable boys — when tragedy struck. Her parents died, her marriage failed and she began a prolonged battle with agoraphobia. With her boys in their teens and her family near homelessness, Paula took her last $200, reached deep inside her soul and started The Bag Lady, a home-based catering company that marked the start of Deen's professional cooking career. With sons Jamie and Bobby delivering lunch-and-love-in-a-bag, beginning in June 1989, Paula turned her life around by sharing what she knew best, traditional Southern cooking.
