Difficulty: Medium

Prep time: 180 minutes

Cook time: 180 minutes

Servings: 180

Ingredients

  • 1 (12 oz) jar about 1 1/2 cups crunchy peanut butter
  • 1 (16 oz) box powdered sugar
  • 1/2 lb (2 sticks) butter
  • 1 (12 oz) package semi sweet chocolate chips

Directions

Mix together peanut butter, sugar and butter and form into small balls; chill.

In the top of a double boiler over medium heat, melt the chocolate chips, stirring until smooth.

Using a toothpick, dip each ball into the chocolate and cover about 3/4 of the ball, leaving a round peanut butter “eye” showing. Place on wax paper to cool.

I haven't made these yet but planning to. I just read the reviews and was laughing because some reviews said that's not how Ohio makes them. I didn't see where it said "Ohio Peanut Butter Buckeyes". Just saying. Can't wait to make this receipe. ???

Ohio is big on buckeyes,, because we are Ohio State Buckeye fans, and these candies are made all though Football season, the reason people are stating they are not the way people in Ohio makes them, I have my Mom's recipe and it is different, but different stokes for different folks, use which ever recipe you like best, but try a new one for a change...<3

I am from Ohio and we make Buckeyes all year. Ours doesn't use Chrunchy PB, they need to be smoother. I'm sure your Recipe tastes great, but your presentation picture made it hard for me to recognize them. I love your Southern Recipes, you may want to find a different one for the Buckeyes though. Ask an Ohioan! :) I think we all make them the same. Thanks for sharing though..Merry Christmas to You and Yours

You may want to check the amount of butter in this recipe. There is much more butter in this than other recipes. There was very little taste of peanut butter and the texture was more like frosting. I throw it out , at least I didn't waste the chocolate. I cut the butter down to 1/2 stick and it was much better.
